As an example this families goal was to create a low maintenance, tidy, child friendly and inviting outdoor space.
By working with their individual tastes and ideals we have created two uniform surface giving an illusion of space and tidiness. This allows the space to look relatively uncluttered and tidy with the scattering of toys inevitable when young children are the main users. Functional open space is placed right next to the house drawing you outdoors and character and greenery is added through the addition of pot plants a low maintenance alternative to borders.

This families goal was again very similar in that they wanted a section of lawn for their young child to play on as well as to tidy up the lower sections and create more usable space.
Once again we put in floor level decking inviting you out the rear french doors and creating a formal space. We excavated the middle section of this heavily sloped garden to level it off and create a safe platform for children to play on. not only this but to open up the area and create (our favorite term) functional space. Sleeper borders were put in to clearly and neatly define lawn edging and garden areas such as the new veggie plots.
This garden has been transformed from a garden with a mental barrier to enter and no usable space to a modern child friendly garden with plenty of entertainment space.

This Garden was a converted old garage and had been laid with brick. The clients wanted some lawn space but still wanted a formal seating area and didn't like the idea or look of the sunken uneven brick.
We created the seating area with sandstone paving and tied it into the rest of the garden with sandstone stepping stones and steps. The remaining area required a lot of excavation as the new lawn required a decent base of topsoil and adequate drainage. To finish it all off a raised bed was added for vegetables, the walls repainted and gravel put down either sides of the steps.
